Who is responsible

The person named in the imprint is responsible for processing your data on this website. You will also find the contact address for all privacy questions there.

We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

In short

  • You can read the blog without giving us any data. There are no comments, no contact form and no newsletter.
  • Google Analytics only runs if you agree in the banner.
  • YouTube videos only load when you click «Play video».
  • The calculators (calorie and bake calculator) run entirely in your browser. What you enter is not sent or stored.

Server log files

Each time a page is requested, our hosting provider automatically stores technical information: IP address, date and time, the requested address, the referring page, browser and operating system. We need this data to run the website securely and reliably and to detect attacks. It is not combined with other data and is deleted after 30 days at the latest. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

If you click «Accept» in the banner, we use Google Analytics 4 by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics shows us which articles are read and how visitors find the website. Google sets cookies for this and processes data such as a shortened IP address, device, browser, approximate location (country, city) and the pages viewed.

Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded.

You can change your choice at any time via «Cookie settings» at the bottom of every page. We only store your choice in your browser (local storage), not on our server.

YouTube videos

Some articles contain videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited). When you open a page, no connection to YouTube is made; you only see a placeholder. Only when you click «Play video» does the video load from youtube-nocookie.com. Google then receives your IP address and technical data and may set cookies. The legal basis is the consent you give by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Some articles contain affiliate links to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases; the price stays the same for you. No data is collected on our website for this. Only when you click an affiliate link do you go to Amazon, which records that you came from our site and may set cookies. Amazon's privacy notice applies there.

We link to sources and other websites. Their operators are responsible for how they handle data.

Cookies and browser storage

The website itself does not set cookies for visitors. In your browser's local storage we only keep your choice in the consent banner. Cookies are only set by Google Analytics (after consent) and YouTube (after you click a video). For editors, the protected admin area sets a technically necessary login cookie.

Your rights

You have the right to access the data we process about you and to have it corrected, deleted, restricted or handed over. You can object to processing and withdraw your consent at any time. Please use the contact address in the imprint.

You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EU the data protection authority of your country of residence.

We update this privacy policy when the website or the law changes. The version published here applies.
